Bordeaux Wine Futures
Purchasing Bordeaux wine futures allows you to reserve your allocation well in advance of the physical release of these world-class wines usually at lower prices than final retail. It also allows you to special order larger or smaller sized bottles. Wines usually arrive 2-3 years after the initial futures offer. If you have questions, please email futures@binnys.com or speak to the Wine Manager at your local Binny’s Beverage Depot location.
Additional bottles sizes are available by request on most 2025 wines. Please contact futures@binnys.com for pricing & availability.
The 2025 Bordeaux vintage is shaping up to be quite special on several fronts. Starting with the fact that our buyers have just returned from tasting barrel samples at the annual En Primeur event in Bordeaux raving about the amazing quality of the 2025s. In addition, prices are expected to be sharp, with most chateaux likely holding relatively close to the low bar set by the 2024 vintage. The caveat- yields were way down, so there will be less wine, making securing futures a strong play for this outstanding vintage.
The growing season was marked by exceptionally warm weather and a general lack of rain, but just enough fell when it was really needed. Hot days drove early phenolic ripening of highly concentrated fruit while sugar production miraculously remained on a slow track. Cool nights helped to keep those sugars at moderate levels while retaining the fruits’ fresh acids. Beneficial rain in August refreshed the vines and led to an early ripening crop featuring moderate potential alcohol, ripe velvety tannins, intense fruit and elevated acidity.
The resulting wines have gorgeous, intense aromatics, rich layers of fruit, and a remarkable sense of freshness and finesse, all at low levels of alcohol by modern standards. Add it all up- stunning quality, low production and moderate prices, and 2025 is a decidedly a vintage to buy.
