Goldfinger x Pollyanna x Binny's - Bank of the Rhine

Goldfinger x Pollyanna x Binny’s
Bank of the Rhine
Our Homage to Alsace
We’re proud to announce the arrival of another collaborative lager project with Goldfinger and Pollyanna. While interest in lagers continues to grow, the craft community continues to focus heavily on pilsners. While we love a good hop forward lager, the lagers that balance hop bitterness with malt complexity are ones we tend to treasure, imparting a lasting impression that leaves us longing for more.
For the base of our Alsatian-style lager we utilized Avalon, a 2-row barley that was grown and malted at Sugar Creek Malt Co. in Boone Country Indiana. Avalon is a product of Virginia Tech’s Small Grain Breeding Program and was bred from barley with French parentage. A flourish of French specialty malts from Malteries Franco-Belges imparted additional color and complexity.
After a lengthy rest in Goldfinger’s horizontal lagering tanks, our rustic Alsatian-style amber lager is ready to be enjoyed. We hope you share a glass of this remarkable beer with friends over good food and conversation. Bank of the Rhine makes for the perfect partner to the Alsatian staple tarte flambée.
A big thank you to the teams at Goldfinger and Pollyanna for bringing this project to life.
Santé!
