Binny's Tasting Panel: Holiday Favorites x Women of Binny's

The Women of Binny’s know how to throw a party. They also know how to take it to the next level for the holidays without breaking the bank.
Our esteemed WOB panelist brought a sleigh full of favorites for the holiday table and generalized merrymaking, but only a fraction could make it to the extra-nice list. We tasted completely blind, relegated some to the Island of Misfit Toys, then landed Santa’s sleigh loaded with this gorgeous array of wines to bring cheer to your holiday feasts and festivities.
Availability varies by location.
Reichsrat von Buhl Riesling Sekt 2019
“This sparkling riesling is brilliant! It's so complex, yet approachable. It tastes of luxurious golden apples, creamy custard, almonds, warm autumn squash and sweet potatoes. An amazing pairing with a roasted veggie platter, hummus and pita. This wine will elevate any party to feel like an exclusive occasion.”
-Emily N, Wine Manager, Montgomery
Vietti Roero Arneis 2023
“This pale-gold white wine from Northern Italy brings a strong Meyer lemon citrus and melon nose. Those aromas follow through on the palate along with fresh, crisp acidity. The medium body makes this a well-balanced wine that pairs perfectly with all types of fish. Celebrating the Feast of the Seven Fishes - this is your go-to wine for the table!”
-Nancy S, Wine Manager, Willowbrook
Delille Cellars Chaleur Estate Blanc 2022
“What the Blanc?!?! This delightful blend is an excellent example of what can happen when Sauvignon Blanc meets Semillon. Classic nose of citrus, white flowers; a lively palate of mascarpone, marzipan, brioche and vanilla, it finishes with a long smoky, flinty minerality. Excellent with lobster, scallops and winter squashes. The Chaleur Blanc slaps hard.”
-Tracey R, Wine Consultant, Bucktown
Paul Pernot et ses Fils Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc 2022
“White Burgundy elevates any meal, making it a perfect choice for the holidays. The Pernot family crafts wine in Puligny-Montrachet, the heart of White Burgundy Grand Crus. This Cote d'Or bottling is a window into the limestone minerality of Puligny, without paying Puligny prices. Lemon curd, yellow apple, vanilla bean and a delicate mouthfeel make this an incredibly versatile chardonnay at the table.”
-Jeannie B, Wine Consultant, Lincoln Park
Masseria Li Veli Askos Susumaniello 2022
“A deep ruby-red wine with expressions of black cherry, tart cranberry, blackberries, mocha and herbs. Rich but balanced fruit and a medium weight mouthfeel are complemented by cozy tannins. A super satisfying, off the beaten path, red with crowd appeal. Pair with pork roast or beef dishes for your holiday feasts.”
-Nancy S, Wine Consultant, Willowbrook
Leviathan Red Blend 2022
“For the 2024 holiday season we've coined the term “Elevated Dad Wine" to describe this bold, lush, but easy drinking red. It’s so velvety, fruit-forward and juicy without being jammy! The tannins are present, giving structure but remain soft enough to pair with a variety of dishes. Dads everywhere will love this with a baked brie appetizer or savory main dishes like ham or beef tenderloin.”
-Marnie T, Wine Consultant, Bucktown
Ciacci Piccolomini Brunello di Montalcino 2019
“This is classic Brunello, made by a historical producer, at a price that is very competitive relative to the quality. Lots of red cherry, orange peel, balsamic herbs and well-integrated tannins that will be the perfect accompaniment to a main meat course. One of the Kings of Italian wine; it makes for a special, festive, and tasty holiday gathering!”
-Jeannie B, Wine Consultant, Lincoln Park
Malvira Arneis Renesium Late Harvest
“This bottle tastes like the Holidays. So cheerful, and bright. You can't help but smile when you take that first sip. Sweet, candied squash, baked pears, lemon curd, and orange peel will leave you feeling merry. You worked hard all season, time to enjoy a special treat.”
