Tiger's Claw Tiki Cocktail

Ingredients

How to make

  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.

  2. Add Ice & shake until well combined.

  3. Pour into a highball glass.

  4. Garnish: Add an orange slice & a little umbrella (if you have one on hand).

In the depths of an upper midwest winter, sometimes what you need is cocktail that reminds you of warmer days. Like many tiki cocktails, the ingredients list might have you scratching your head, but this mélange of flavors meld into a crafty cocktail- without all of the work. The only prep work needed is the cinnamon syrup, but this syrup can be used throughout the holiday season in a festive old fashioned. Combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar (Demerara or turbinado for a richer cocktail) with 4 broken up cinnamon sticks. Boil for 10 minutes, then chill. Not only is this syrup delicious and versatile, making it will make your house smell like the holidays. Pairs well with the classic Tiki appetizer rumaki, water chestnuts and chicken liver wrapped in bacon and flavored with soy sauce, ginger and brown sugar.
