Tasty Treats for Halloween

With Halloween just around the corner, hopefully candy and costumes are covered, but what about the beer? If you're looking for a pumpkin beer, the Barrel Aged Schlafly mentioned above is the way to go. If pumpkins not your thing, or if youre looking for something a little different, give these treats a try.

Ballast Point Victory at Sea Imperial Porter

Victory at Sea is a big roasty porter with a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel. Infused with ¾ oz of cold brewed Caffe Calabria coffee per pint of porter - coffee is the star of the show here. The finish is bold and complex, with notes of caramel, vanilla and dark chocolate.

4 Hands Absence of Light

4 Hands likes to play around with their popular Chocolate Milk Stout, and Absence of Light might be our favorite experiment yet. Sweet and aromatic on the nose, it's rich and smooth with a delicious peanut butter cup finish. Looking for a unique new dessert idea? Plop a scoop of your favorite ice cream into a pint glass, slowly top it up with this delicious milk stout, then garnish with whipped cream and a cherry.

Pollyanna Fun Size

A freshly poured Fun Size is a tantalizing reminder that we taste first with our noses. The aroma immediately brought smiles to our faces - chocolate, caramel, peanuts, even nougat, it's all there. Smooth and creamy across the tongue, this oatmeal milk stout delivers lovely confectionary flavors without being cloyingly sweet. A beer that must be tasted to be believed.

The Bruery Midnight Autumn Maple

A healthy dose of midnight wheat pushes this delicious autumnal offering over to the dark side. Fans of pumpkin ales will find some familiar flavors at work here, with sweet baking spices accenting its maple glazed finish. A slice of sweet potato pie with a big dollop of chocolate whipped cream - in liquid form.

Rogue Dead Guy

First brewed for a Portland restaurants Mayan Day of the Dead celebration, this German Maibock inspired ale is rich, satisfying, and a great partner for BBQ and spicy cuisine. Pouring amber in color, its honeyed malt character is artfully balanced by earthy Rogue estate grown hops. An American craft classic. Check out the Beer Buzz for updates on new beer, tastings, sales and more!
