India Pale Ale - It's the beer that put American craft brewing on the map. West Coast, Imperial, New England, Black, White and Rye - the variations on this popular style are nearly endless. Juicy IPAs are currently all the rage, so we've selected a few of our favorites to hoist in celebration. 

 

Firestone Walker Leo v Ursus Adversus

The Leo v Ursus series is Firestone's answer to the "haze craze," and like their inaugural effort Fortem, Adversus is not to be missed. Wheat and oats impart some token haziness, as well as a soft and supple mouthfeel. Adversus is built around pilsner malt, making it amazingly light in body and dangerously drinkable. Hop bitterness is greatly restrained, with bright tropical hop aromas and flavors stealing the show. It's hard to believe this brew clocks in at 8.2% ABV. *Coming soon to Champaign or Bloomington. 

Sierra Nevada Tropical Torpedo

Like Firestone Walker's Adversus, Sierra Nevada's Tropical Torpedo showcases remarkably tropical hop aromas and flavors. Amarillo, Mosaic, Citra, El Dorado and Comet hops impart bright and juicy notes of passionfruit, guava and mango to both the nose and the palate. Amazing how Sierra managed to capture all this tropical fruitiness from hops alone. 

Revolution Citra Hero

Of Revolution's many "Hero" IPAs, Citra might be our favorite. After popping the top, you're immediately hit with an intoxicating mix of pineapple and guava. Belgian aromatic malts and red wheat provide complexity and smoothness, but the real standout is its incredibly citrusy and fruity hop finish. 

Half Acre Freedom Of '78 collaboration with Short's Brewing Company

The collaboration returns! Half Acre and Short's join forces on this amazingly fruity and aromatic IPA. Background maltiness imparts a biscuity quality that pairs nicely with the tangy zip of guava. Smooth and juicy, yet it pours bright and clear! Imagine that. Supplies of this tasty IPA are limited, so hurry in and pick some up before it's all gone! 

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed

This juicy IPA from Deschutes is brewed with Citra and Mosaic hops. Mosaic hops shine here, piecing together a complex hop profile that is piney, floral and earthy - with bright tropical fruit flavors and notes of vine ripened berries.
