Here are the winners coupled with some sage advice on pairing these refreshing wines with summer food and fun.

VillaViva Rosé 2023

“A boat, Lake Michigan, warm breezes. Add VillaViva Rose 2023 to the mix and you have the perfect afternoon. Boasting tangy, mouthwatering acidity and salinity, ripe watermelon and a spicy undertone of pumpkin pie spice. Serve with bruschetta kabobs, cheddar cheese tarts or, simply, popcorn. Enjoy!”

Belle de Provence Rosé Coteaux Varois en Provence 2023

“A tangy fruit festival in a glass, brimming with flavors of raspberry, peach and citrus. Dry, zesty and refreshing, perfect with a picnic on a warm summer evening at Millennium Park or Ravinia.”

Anne Amie Cuvee Rosé of Pinot Noir 2023

“This rose is playfully serious and seriously playful! It's perfect for any upscale occasion or backyard hangout. It tastes of strawberries, cherries, tangerine, saline, and wild roses, has a lush, medium body and a dry, clean finish. I'd pair this wine with an intense game of Bocce ball, some Yacht Rock, and baked Brie cheese with brambleberry jam.“

-Emily N., Wine Manager, Montgomery

Esprit Gassier Rosé Cotes de Provence 2023

“Drinking this wine brings me back to my summers on the Mediterranean Sea. It’s a clear, pale peach hue tinged with a rose-gold. Intense aromas of red berries and mango waft from the glass. On the palate, soft strawberry gelato flavors lead to a lingering, creamy finish. This is sure to please a crowd as a refreshing complement to any pool party or backyard gathering.”

- LeAnne T., Wine Consultant, Oak Brook

Flowers Estate Rosé 2023

“The 2023 Flowers Sonoma Coast Estate Rose is a bottle you open for friends and family that have a penchant for culinary adventures. The rich flavors of sun-drenched strawberry fields, vine-ripened watermelon and red grapefruit make this a great wine for an upscale outdoor picnic. Try pairing this sophisticated rose with spicey Italian salami, like Soppressata, and Valencay, an aged French goat cheese.”

- Jamie M., Wine Manager, Portage Park
