The Lincoln Park Tasting Room pumps out a new lineup of winter cocktails

This is a Chris episode, which means it’s esoteric but fun and someone will probably get well actually’d. What's more esoteric than port cocktails?

This boozy but ice-cold and indescribably refreshing cocktail was the signature drink at Trinidad’s luxurious Queen’s Park Hotel from the 1920s until its eventual demise a few decades later. Thankfully, the cocktail lives on as the epitome of the Caribbean cocktail aesthetic.

This Rye based Negroni riff was introduced at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris along with the Bourbon based Boulevardier about 100 years ago. Unlike the Negroni and the Boulevardier, Dry Vermouth is called for instead of sweet.

Bartender Angie built this cocktail around memories she had with her Grandmother. They would often take a drive in the fall down Sheridan Road from the city up to Highland Park and watch all of the leaves change color. Additionally, the rum of choice is Angie's favorite, and she was quite pleased to find that the port mixed perfectly with the gin and bitters.

Like a good Manhattan? Then you'll love the Holiday Road. Build it just like a Manhattan, but substitute your favorite rum for the usual whiskey. Lincoln Park Tasting Room bartender Angie uses a 15 year old rum because, as she put it, go big or go home.

Bartender Angie from the Binny's Lincoln Park Tasting Room got the inspiration for this potion after hearing about how much Pliny the Elder enjoyed his peers. It's a well-balanced cocktail, with bitterness from amaro pairing perfectly with the spiced pear flavors of the St. George Liqueur.

Originating from Cuba, the Mojito is traditionally a five ingredient cocktail that consists of white rum, sugar, lime juice, sparkling water and mint.
