"With the benefit of hindsight and a bit of bottle age,
there can be no denying that 2009 and 2010 are two very great vintages...."
Lisa-Perrotti-Brown Master of Wine
The Wine Advocate, March 2019
It was clear from the start that both the 2009 and 2010 Bordeaux vintage were exceptional, but it was also easy to recognize that each offered something unique and special. The wines from 2009 were immediately appealing with moderate acidity and ripe, integrated tannic structures framing beautiful fruit cores. They were so precocious yet certainly had the stuffing to age gracefully. The 2010 vintage brought us monumental wines of great power, displaying thre telltale marks of future greatness: high alcohol, high acidity and massive gobs of tannin. These were undoubtedly vins de garde in need of a good long rest in a cool cellar. Now that we have the perspective that only time can lend, we have a great opportunity to revisit these back to back modern legends.
