Attention Napa Cab lovers: Get in on the ground floor with this exciting first release from a veteran of the industry. This may be the first time you are hearing the name Duhig but it certainly won’t be the last. If Harvest Duhig (yes, her first name really is Harvest) has anything to say about it, the Duhig name will be ringing out across the valley as loudly as that of Caymus. Given Harvest’s twenty years of experience overseeing their thirty mountain fruit growers, Caymus is a natural reference point, as she also happens to be their mountain fruit winemaker. While she continues to work for Caymus, she has also acquired a 13 acre vineyard site in Coombsville, one of Napa’s newest cool-climate sub-AVAs as well as one of the hottest among winemakers in the know. Ripe blue and black fruit along with complex herbal and earthy notes, her wine is classic Coombsvile. While she only has three acres under vine more plantings will come online soon, however this will never be a large-production wine. Only 125 cases of this inaugural vintage were produced, so don’t waste a second - procure your slice of what will someday be considered a great chapter in Napa history.
