Bourbon may officially be America's spirit, and the 4th of July our celebration of independence, but two important traditions existed at least as early, if not before.

Originally, the Sazerac cocktail was made with French brandy. In 1873, the recipe for the Sazerac Cocktail was altered to replace the French brandy with American Rye whiskey. We decided to recreate the original with Hennessy Cognac - plus ginger syrup, a few dashes of barrel aged bitters, and of course, a heavy absinthe rinse.

We're mixing things up with this classic gin cocktail. Instead of gin, we're adding mezcal. It adds a smoky flavor that blends magically with the sweet and bitter flavors in the cocktail.

The Old Fashioned is a cocktail staple and has stayed the most consistent since its origin compared to other long-standing cocktails. The only slight change we've seen over the past 200 years or so is the popular switch from rye whiskey to bourbon. And now - Mezcal.

Ernest said it best, “I drink to make other people more interesting.” We're not saying you're boring or anything, but everyone would be a lot cooler if they tried this daiquiri mixed with 12 year-aged rum. Seriously.

If one thing is certain here at Binny's, it's that we love our handpicks. We were delighted to hear that Maker's Mark introduced a Private Select Barrel program.

Luce Del Sol is Italian for sunlight - and this cocktail reminds us of just that. It is full of lemon candy and floral flavors. The amaro adds a light bitterness that is just enough to round out the sweetness of the Limoncello. Best enjoyed as a post-dinner treat.

The ginger beer adds a refreshing spice to the sweet flavors in this rum-based cocktail. Protip - let the pineapple soak in the rum before using as a garnish.
