Whiskey Wishlist

The iconic Irish butter and cheese producer finally has enough confidence in an Irish whiskey to tie their name and golden reputation to their very own Irish cream liqueur. With Kerrygold cream from grass-fed cows, Irish whiskey plus rich chocolate.   Buffalo Trace Bourbon Maybe you’ve noticed that Buffalo Trace Bourbon has become scarce over the last year. The distillery refuses to cut corners, instead patiently waiting for more stock to age to the Buffalo Trace we love. We do have plenty this month, so fill those stockings while you can.   St George Gin Gift Pack One gin isn’t enough for St George, nor two. They released three gins – Botanivore, Terroir and Dry Rye – to show the dynamic spirit’s full range. Give a taste of all three in this adorable gift set.   Glenrothes Triple Pack See just what the acclaimed Speyside distillery can do. This set includes the new nonvintage Select Reserve, the 2001, with wonderful length and depth, and the 1998, the first Glenrothes expressly laid down upon distillation to be bottled under the Glenrothes name.   Marie Duffau Hors d’Age Armagnac We like to think of Armagnac as Cognac for mere mortals. This 15 year old Armagnac is produced by the Delord family, a more feminine, graceful and complex counterpart than their usual production, plus all the spicy tobacco backbone you love in a great Armagnac.   Syndicate 58/6 Rare Blended Scotch Whisky From a solera of older whiskies, this rare blend was spearheaded by Richard “The Nose” Patterson of Dalmore fame, one of the best blenders in Scotland. Syndicate was originally produced for an exclusive club in Scotland, and just recently became available in the US.   Gordon & Macphail Mortlach 25 Year Old Mortlach is the backbone of Johnnie Walker Black Label and the sherried heart of the whole Walker lineup, making single malt bottlings that much harder to find, making this indie expression an amazing bargain. Check out these stats: 25 years old, 86 proof from hogsheads. Distillery bottlings this age and quality sell for four times the price of this indie edition.   Casa Dragones Joven A heavy hitting joven from the Jalisco lowlands. Serious tequila with a sublime balance of agave spice and soft fruit. The joven is rounded by a small addition of high-quality, extra anejo tequila. The end product? An incredibly round and complex 100% blue agave sipping tequila. No tequila lover should be without.   The Annasach Reserve 25 year old Blended Malt Binny’s Select Wm Grants Binny’s is thrilled to partner with legendary family-owned Scotch blender William Grant to bring the US’s first ever Luxury Blended Malt. Grant gave us access to their extensive library of stocks to construct a complex, rich yet subtle blending of malts aged a minimum of 25 years. Key components include first and second fill sherried malts from Speyside and the Highlands, bourbon aged Highland malts, and a bit of spice from the addition of a thirty year old Islay. If you’re a fan of complex whisky, do not miss the Annasach Reserve.   1974 Ardbeg Double Barrel 2 Bottle Gun Case The ultimate whisky gift? From an original run of 250 units, we have just one left. One. A bespoke leather gun case holds two bottles of exceptionally rare 1975 Ardbeg, each from a separate barrel and both at cask strength. The case also includes eight solid silver drinking cups from Scotland’s Hamilton & Inches, two beautiful books, and a handcrafted pen from Italian workshop OMAS. Legend has it the set also comes with a fishing trip on Islay with distillery manager Mickey Heads; we can neither confirm nor deny that the offer is still valid. But we can probably hook you up.   Looking for more gift ideas and insider spirits info? Be sure to check out the Whiskey Hotline.
