Whiskey Week 2015
Two nights. 75+ distilleries. Hundreds of spirits. Whiskey week 2015 at Binny's Beverage Depot was outstanding. Bourbon Women Night and World of Whiskies continue to highlight the best of the best in the spirits industry. From a large range of handpicked single barrels to barrel aged cocktails to hop soaked white whiskey, there is no shortage of variety.
We kicked off Whiskey Week with our second Bourbon Women Night, and it lived up to all of the hype! We were joined by Allisa Henley, distiller at George Dickel Distillery, Sonja Kassebaum, owner of North Shore Distillery, Sonat Birnecker, owner of Koval, Jennifer Solberg, owner of Rhine Hall, and Jenny Kessler, Brand Manager for High West Distillery, just to name a few. Breakout seminars offered the chance to taste a flight and learn distilling techniques from Jim Beam Ambassador, Megan Breier, plus an intimate look at Four Roses from all-stars Patty Holland and Al Young. The event raised over $1700 for the Bourbon Women Association and featured the launch of the limited Bourbon Women Four Roses Handpicked Single Barrel. Overall, the event was a hit and a rare opportunity to have so many female leaders of the spirits industry in one room.
Night two of Whiskey Week was our highly anticipated annual World of Whiskies event, featuring whiskies from around the globe. Some of our favorites included Yellow Spot, Copper and Kings brandies, Westland Single Barrel 312, Tullibardine 225 Sauternes Finish, Redbreast 15 year, Russel's Reserve Single Barrel and - if you knew who to ask - a sneak peek of the upcoming Four Kings release, which pending TTA label approval, will be available soon. Check out the Whiskey Hotline to keep up with more events, tastings and spirits news.
