As seen in the latest Whiskey Hotline, we're holding on to summer here at the hotline with some of our favorite warm weather cocktails.

Americano Soda

This cocktail is pungent, aromatic, refreshing and bitter. Perfect for humid afternoons at the Brophy homestead. rocks-glass-8-9-2013 Ingredients 2 oz Cocchi Americano 1-1/2 oz Aperol Club Soda   Simple Steps: Fill a rocks glass with ice, pour in Cocchi Americano, Aperol, then top off with club soda.

Deliverance aka "the Grabber"

Joe says Mountain Dew was originally intended to be mixed with mountain dew, which apparently is Kentucky for moonshine. We aren't sure it matters. Not recommended for those with heart conditions or expectant mothers. mason-jar-8-9-2013 Ingredients 1/2 Moonshine 1/2 Mountain Dew   Simple Steps: The cheaper the moonshine the better. Serve over ice in a mason jar.

Jack Daly

So you're at a party where the best beer is domestic Lite and there's a table full of the usual bottles: vodka, fruit flavored vodka, RumChata, and your old friend Jack. Don't sweat it - improvise with this whiskified take on a John Daly. Suddenly your father-in-law's co-worker's cousin's stories don't seem so offensive. red-cup-8-9-2013 Ingredients 1/3 Lemonade 1/3 Iced Tea 1/3 Jack Daniel's   Simple Steps: Serve over ice in a red plastic cup.

The Thief

For the cocktail enthusiast who likes showing off expensive and obscure ingredients. Garnish with elusive Indian saffron or unopened original Star Wars Action Figures or something. Josh says he calls it The Thief because it's stolen an adaptation of a cocktail he tasted at some hot bar. highball-glass-8-9-2013 Ingredients 1 1/2 oz Gin 1 oz Campari 1 oz Eden Orleans Herbal 2 oz Small Hand Foods Raspberry Gum Syrup 1/2 oz lime juice   Simple Steps: Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain over ice in a highball glass.
