September 17th marks of start of Munich’s annual Oktoberfest, but here in the Windy City the celebrating has already begun. So fill up a stein with one of these local favorites and hoist it high!

Chicago Oktoberfest Binny's

Revolution Oktoberfest

German malts make up the base of Revolution’s Oktoberfest beer. Smooth and mellow, it features a nice biscuity quality as well as a candied sweetness reminiscent of caramel corn.

Metropolitan After Burner Oktoberfest

Metropolitan’s Afterburner features a deep earthy malt aroma reminiscent of its German forbearers. Hearty and satisfying, its complex malt profile delivers flavors of roasted chestnuts and buttered toast. The finish is nutty with a subtle kiss of noble hops.

Two Brothers Atom Smasher

Two Brothers Atom Smasher takes the traditional Marzen template, beefs it up a bit and lays it to rest in oak foudres. The result is a rich amber lager with notes of caramel, vanilla and a sweet spicy finish.

BuckleDown Oktoberfest

While it’s copper in color like a traditional Marzen, BuckleDown’s Oktoberfest drinks more like a modern German Festbier, with toasty malts playing second fiddle to spicy and earthy European hops. Light and crisp with a big hoppy finish, BuckleDown’s take on this treasured autumnal classic is an interesting change of pace.   Check out the Beer Buzz for updates on new beer, tastings, sales and more!
