With new breweries launching every week, brewers have to get creative to stand out in a sea of choices. California’s Ballast Point Brewing Company just released three new variations of their popular IPA, and they are too good to miss. From a modest 3.5% abv session IPA to a 10% abv DIPA, you'll find one you love.

Ballast Point

Ballast Point Mango Even Keel

Begins with an incredibly aromatic nose, like slices of fresh mango. Light and dry, this is West Coast through and through. The finish is a unique combination of herbaceous hops, peppery notes and tropical fruit. We’re anxious to try this with some fish tacos and guacamole.

Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin

Pours a beautiful, brilliant golden hue with citrus hops and pineapple on the nose. Telltale BP Sculpin flavor profile along with big grapefruit peel give way to subtle ripe pineapple. A solid tropical variant that had us longing for the San Diego sun.

Ballast Point Watermelon Dorado

The nose is bright, sweet and aromatic as if we just unwrapped a watermelon hard candy. On the palate, it’s a wonderful mix of fresh-cut watermelon, meyer lemons, and grapefruit. Malt sweetness and hop bitterness are perfectly balanced making this 10% abv DIPA dangerously drinkable. Arguably the best watermelon beer we’ve ever tried.   All three are great on their own, but how about mixed together? Try this tropical salad: 3 parts Mango Even Keel, 2 parts Pineapple Sculpin and 1 part Watermelon El Dorado.
