Field Recordings - Tin City
Field Recordings is a quirky little project that we happen to love here at Binny’s. It’s the brainchild of winemaker Andrew Jones and everything he does is just a little different as evidenced by his lineup of esoteric wines under the Field Recordings label. He has a day job as a nursery fieldman, planning and planting vineyards up and down the central coast. He knows all the best vineyards and has access to fruit from excellent under the radar sights. He works his winemaking magic for us at the appropriately unusual little complex of producers, restaurants and retail spaces made of corrugated metal known as Tin City in Paso Robles. The tasty results can be found in affordable bottles of Binny’s Vineyard Direct Tin City Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Shop Now →
Monticello Vineyards - 4242
Monticello Vineyards is a perfect fit for a Binny’s partnership given our shared heritage as family-owned businesses committed to quality. Located in Napa’s relatively cool Oak Knoll District since 1970, the Corley family also owns vineyards in AVAs around the valley. The family’s dedication to making fine wine from carefully tended estate grown fruit is laudable and the results, impressive. Monticello acts as a custom crush facility as well as a family-owned winery providing winemaker Chris Corley the unique opportunity to both teach and learn from the best winemakers in Napa. He has had a hand in making hundreds of 90+ rated wines over the years and gained a rare level of knowledge and insight. Flowers Vineyards & Winery - Perennial
Few California Pinot Noir lovers don’t know the name of the revered Sonoma Coast winery, Flowers. Located within view of, but high above, the Pacific Ocean in the newly minted West Sonoma Coast AVA, Flowers’s presence there predates the recent designation of this legendarily rugged, cool and fog-shrouded part of the Sonoma Coast by three decades. Our buyers and a small group of discerning wine managers paid a recent visit to our friends at Flowers, anticipating the opportunity to taste the brilliant pinots and chardonnays turned out by longtime Director of Winemaking, Chantal Forthun. When they tasted Perennial, they knew Chantal had done it again and immediately struck a deal to make this classic Sonoma Pinot Noir a Binny’s exclusive. Caymus Vineyards has been synonymous with big, ripe, fruit laden Napa Cabernet Sauvignon since 1972. So much so that they virtually define the style for many lovers of their bold approach in both vineyard and winery. Caymus, like Binny’s, has been family owned from the very start, displaying the consistent commitment to quality that we look for in partners for our BVD program.
