"This 2009 ZD Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is bursting with complexity. Intense aromas of cassis, plum, ripe blackberries and subtle hints of clove, lavender and toasty vanilla support a solid core of ripe fruit on the palate. The balance is structured but elegant, with soft, velvety tannins and a perfect acid/tannin balance that will ensure its long term ageability."

2005 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

"Musky aromas of cassis, licorice, game, tobacco leaf and subtle brown spices. Velvety-sweet and deep, with hints of tobacco leaf, mint and herbs giving definition to the middle palate. Nicely bright but youthfully tight wine, finishing with broad tannins." Reviewed by Stephen Tanzer.

2012 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon

"A great effort from Far Niente in this truly magnificent vintage, with its similarities to 2002, the Far Niente 2012 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon has a dense purple color, plenty of structure and aging potential, and an impressive inner core of sweet crème de cassis fruit, licorice and background vanilla. This wine is still very much an infant in its evolution, and should keep for 20-30 years. Many 2012s are excessively generous, open-knit and fleshy, but this is holding a lot back. And wow, it is “locked and loaded.” I wouldn’t be surprised to see this wine increase in score in about 5-10 years, and actually merit an even higher score. Bravo!" - Robert Parker, Jr.

1998 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon Library Release

"The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine for classicists. Savory, floral and mineral notes abound in a wine with gorgeous aromatic complexity, but little in the way of typical Napa Valley fruit. Cedar, smoke, tobacco, sage and leather are some of the many notes that inform the tense, pointed finish. The style is definitely European-leaning in the 1998, a wine from one of the most challenging Napa Valley harvests in recent memory."
