Item #59766
Size: 750ml
Type: Red Wine
Country: Spain
Region: Bierzo

"The 2011 Petalos del Bierzo is very aromatic and flowery (violets), almost heady, with clear notes of blueberries and licorice. The oak is perfectly integrated, almost imperceptible, save for a touch of spices and a lactic hint denoting a very young wine. It has a medium body, with a thick silky texture, is very tasty, with some acidic strawberry flavors."

2012 Can Blau Montsant

"Cherry with purple reflections, it exhibits a collection of attributes, aromatics, strength and complexity that bring an almost panoramic view of the possibilities of the D.O. Monsant. Fruity and impregnated with the soil's notes it shows wideness of savories in the mouth and a fresh and spicy finish."

2012 Celler Cal Pla Mas d'en Compte Black Slate

"From one of Priorat’s coolest micro-climates, this 2012 Black Slate is composed of 60% old vine Grenache (60+ years) and 40% old Carignan (80 years), and aged 12 months in concrete tanks, old wood foudres, and two-year-old barrels. It reveals lots of licorice, crushed wet rock, sweet blueberry and black raspberry fruit characteristics along with a full-bodied, moderately tannic mouthfeel. The tannins are sweet and well-integrated, and the wine is drinking beautifully already. For a relatively expensive Spanish appellation, this is an outright steal!" - Robert Parker, Jr.

2011 Acustic Celler Ritme

"Deep ruby. Powerful, mineral-accented cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by notes of anise, pungent herbs and floral oil. Lush and expansive, offering intense bitter cherry and blackberry flavors lifted by a zesty mineral nuance. Shows excellent energy and focus on the youthfully tannic finish, which leaves sweet dark fruit and spicecake notes behind. Give this extremely young wine some air or cellar time."
