"This is notably ripe but not exotic with an appealingly layered nose of both white and yellow orchard fruit coupled with lovely floral aromas that give way to rich, generous and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a clean, cool and precise finish. There is a citrusy character to the agreeably dry finale of moderate depth but note that my score is predicated on the assumption that more will develop with bottle age."

2011 Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Les Champs Canet

"Green-tinged straw color. Fresh yellow peach and a suggestion of rocky austerity on the nose. Bright lemony acidity enlivens the tactile flavors of citrus, spices, flowers, minerals and white pepper. Finishes backward and quite dry, with a saline quality dusting the palate. I particularly like the wine's smoky mineral tension. This cuvee is the domain's largest premier cru, comprising three ages of vines, including the estate's oldest." -Stephen Tanzer

2010 Vincent Girardin Corton Charlemagne

"Aromas of apple, lime and ginger. A step up in intensity and minerality from the premier crus; quite ripe and pliant but rather unforthcoming. Best today on the subtle, rising whiplash of a finish, which coats the palate with powdered stone. Very long and gripping wine: am I underestimating it today?"-Stephen Tanzer

2011 Bouchard Pere & Fils Corton Charlemagne

"Good bright, pale yellow. Racy, high-strung nose combines lime, powdered stone, iodine and lavender. Juicy and penetrating yet at the same time silky and thick, communicating outstanding tension to its steely mineral-driven flavors. Wonderfully dense yet light on its feet, this vibrant, gripping wine is a classic example of its vineyard. Very long and a bit youthfully sharp on the finish." -Stephen Tanzer
