"This is perhaps the ripest wine to this point with a naturally spicy and mildly exotic yellow fruit nose that is admirably seductive and evidences a hint of lychee nut. The plush medium-bodied flavors possess excellent concentration and impressive finishing power on the mouth coating finish where plenty of dry extract is evident. This is already accessible and quite delicious if not quite as complex as the best of these 1ers."

2011 Yves Boyer Martenot Meursault En l'Ormeau

"Chiseled and pure, “En L’Ormeau” contains some of the domaine’s oldest vines (more than 90 years old) and as such delivers white Burgundy with flavors both saturated and supple. Fresh hazelnuts and yellow flowers are found on the delicate, mineral-driven nose; the mouth is squeaky-clean, with vibrant kumquat and lime flavors, good texture and a bright, savory finish."

2011 Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Les Champs Canet

"Green-tinged straw color. Fresh yellow peach and a suggestion of rocky austerity on the nose. Bright lemony acidity enlivens the tactile flavors of citrus, spices, flowers, minerals and white pepper. Finishes backward and quite dry, with a saline quality dusting the palate. I particularly like the wine's smoky mineral tension. This cuvee is the domain's largest premier cru, comprising three ages of vines, including the estate's oldest." -Stephen Tanzer

2010 Vincent Girardin Corton Charlemagne

"Aromas of apple, lime and ginger. A step up in intensity and minerality from the premier crus; quite ripe and pliant but rather unforthcoming. Best today on the subtle, rising whiplash of a finish, which coats the palate with powdered stone. Very long and gripping wine: am I underestimating it today?"-Stephen Tanzer
