"The 2011 G Dehesa Gago eschews oak – the wine is just put in the tank and then racked. It has a straightforward bouquet of blueberry, red cherries and a touch of balsamic that is well-defined and “pert.” The palate is quite succulent and primal on the entry with lush blueberry and cassis notes. It offers a pleasing, grainy texture with that balsamic note returning on the finish."

"The purple-colored 2009 Prima is made up of 90% Tinta de Toro and 10% Garnacha aged for 12 months in seasoned French oak prior to bottling without filtration. Earthy minerals, espresso, truffle, licorice, and blackberry aromas lead to a ripe, dense, sweetly-fruited, layered wine lacking only complexity."

"It has a soft, mint-tinged bouquet with light dried rose petal tones. The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy entry, prickly red berry fruit, cedar and graphite originating from the oak. The finish is quite sharp with a dash of white pepper lingering on the aftertaste. This is a perfectly pleasant Toro red."
