Item #39323
Size: 750ml
Type: Red Wine
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Country: France
Region: Burgundy, Cote de Beaune

"With a somewhat fresher and very red pinot-infused nose that is followed by detailed, intense and firm medium-bodied flavors that possess good energy and punch on the mouth coating and somewhat linear finish. I like this as it has good development potential as well as a bit more mid-palate flesh though it is not a classic young Beaune as the mouth feel is somewhat stern."

2009 Louis Jadot Santenay Clos de Malte Rouge

"A pretty nose that is ripe yet quite fresh and bright offers up aromas of mostly red berry fruit with ample earth and iron notes plus a hint of the sauvage that gives way to nicely detailed, attractive, intense and reasonably complex medium-bodied flavors where the tannins evidence only mild rusticity on the balanced, mouth coating and lingering finish. This is really quite good for what it is and worth a look."

2012 Bouchard Pere et Fils Savigny les Beaune Les Lavieres

"Like the Savigny villages there is plenty of sauvage character to the dark currant, plum and pungent earth aromas though there is more size, weight and richness to the lightly mineral-inflected flavors. The mouth feel is also notably finer and the supporting tannins are a bit riper and notably firmer on the serious, palate coating and succulent finish. This is fashioned in an understated style and should reward up to a decade of cellar time."

2010 Louis Jadot Pommard

"The 2010 Pommard is a gorgeous village-level wine laced with silky red fruit, crushed flowers, spices and mint. The higher-altitude location of the plots used for the Pommard gives the wine an amount of pure textural finesse that is highly unusual for a wine of this level. Soft, floral notes round out the finish. In 2010 the Pommard is made mostly from estate fruit."
