"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, rich wine bursting with dark fruit. This is a fairly immediate style, some serious tannins notwithstanding. Smoke, tobacco and licorice develop in the glass, adding complexity and nuance. The powerful, fruit-driven finish is totally rewarding, but this will be even better in a few years’ time."

2012 Orin Swift Papillon

"BA vibrant crimson is present in the glass with a claret fringe on the rim. Luring aromas of currants, mulled blackberries, French vanilla, and exotic spices serve as an intriguing precursor to tasting. The opening is dense and powerful with extracted blue and red fruit flavors which leads to beguiling cassis, plum, and a hint of mocha later. The tannins are already so soft and suave which lends to early appeal and cellaring if one so chooses."

2009 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon

"Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon is one of a handful of wines that has stayed true to its style over a number of decades. This wine captures the spirit of Napa Valley mountain Cabernet Sauvignon—rugged tannins, aromatic complexity, and pure varietal expression. Over time, these wines continue to round, and to unveil new layers of interest and complexity. With a light decanting the future is visible in tasting this wine."
