"The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Fossacolle is gorgeous in this vintage. Freshly cut flowers, plums, spices, licorice and mint are all woven together in this rich, generous wine. The 2007 impresses for its fabulous depth and power. Layers of dark red fruit saturate the palate on the intense finish. Everything is in the right place. The Brunello was aged one year in French oak barrels followed by a second year in cask."

2008 Castiglion del Bosco Brunello di Montalcino

"Bright red. Captivating aromas of candied red cherry, dried redcurrant, cinnamon and faded flowers. Bright, rich and dense, with flavors of superripe red cherry, sweet spices and sweet oak. Finishes peppery, clean and long. Very impressive wine, and so well balanced that you won't even notice the 15% alcohol. With a production of 80,000 bottles, there's also plenty of it to go around."

2009 Casanova Di Neri Brunello di Montalcino White Label

"The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is an impressive and impeccable wine that delivers a slow and sensual progression on the palate. Along the way, it leaves a steady stream of ripe fruit, spice, tobacco, licorice and balsam herb that is both impactful and vibrant. The wine’s aromas are very well-delineated, clean and never color outside the lines. The textural fabric of the wine is velvety and rich, thanks to a long 43 months in oak."

2008 Mastrojanni Brunello di Montalcino

"Tar, licorice, game, incense and smoke are some of the many notes that emerge from the 2008 Brunello di Montalcino from Mastrojanni. Big, rich and powerful, the 2008 shows the wilder side of the Sangiovese. The 2008 impresses for its freshness, nuance and delineation, all qualities that are increasingly evident as the wine opens up in the glass, releasing an attractive melange of floral-infused nuances. Firm tannins frame the virile, beautifully articulated finish."
