"The 2011 Finca Antigua Viura offers a fragrant, floral bouquet with honeysuckle and jasmine scents mixed with a touch of vanilla pod. The palate is well-balanced with a touch of dry honey on the entry, leading to a lovely apricot, peach and marmalade-tinged finish that is a real treat. Excellent.”

2013 Paso a Paso Verdejo La Mancha

"This is a riper version of Verdejo than most, with few of the herbal notes that can arise from the Verdejo grape (or that reflect a healthy dose of Viura or Sauvignon Blanc). Lemons, pears, and dried mangos compete in the nose, while the mouth is more citrusy. The wine is friendly and gentle with some soft mineral notes at the end."

2012 Vinos Pinol Ludovicus Blanco

"Pale peach skin color. Vibrant, mineral-accented bouquet evokes dried pear, jasmine and beeswax. Chewy and dry, with strong lemon pith and pear flavors and an exotic touch of anise that builds with air. The tight finish is stony and focused, with a lingering note of honey."

2013 Antxiola Getariako Txakoli

"This cuvee, a blend of the Basque grapes called Hondurrabi Zuri (90%) and Hondurrabi Beltza (10%), comes from a hillside vineyard (40-year-old vines) that flows down to the Bay of Biscay. I recently had the pleasure of eating at one of the world’s greatest fish restaurants, Kaia Kaipe, in the little fishing village of Getaria, which is surrounded by the appellation of Txakolina. The wines are bottled with a lot of natural CO2, so there is a slight amount of spritz to them. They tend to be low in alcohol (10-12%), fresh and lively, as it is a rare Txakolina that spends any time in oak. This 2013 Getariako-Txakolina reveals some CO2 along with copious notes of apple skins, white currants and grapefruit. It is best drunk in its first year of life." - Robert Parker
