"We had many questions before the 2011 harvest, but in barrel, these wines have been a pleasure. Delicious, well-structured, well-balanced. On the nose and on the palate, it is very much a classic expression of our Dundee Hills property, though with perhaps a touch more black cherry and black fruits than usual. As with 2010, the acidity is bright, and overall there is nice structure and very good length. I have a feeling this wine will age exceptionally well, easily more than 10 years."

2012 La Crema Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

"For our first Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, we chose a blend that we felt best displayed the classic elegance, focused acidity, earthiness and vibrant fruit of the Willamette Valley while honoring the La Crema style, which emphasizes balance and supple texture. The nose is complex with hints of violets, star anise, marionberry (an Oregon native) and bay leaf, while the palate displays more brambly fruit, coffee bean, pomegranate and candied orange zest."

2012 Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir

"An elegant take on what is generally considered a big (as in ripe) vintage. The wine keeps the fruit in proportion and aims for overall finesse. Pretty raspberry, cherry and mocha flavors are accented with a dash of dried herb."

2011 Aberrant Cellars Carpe Noctum Pinot Noir

"Deeply ripe but ultimately infectiously juicy cherry and plum are garlanded with diverse flowers and underlain with mouthwatering roasted red meat juiciness and marrowy richness. The piquancy of fruit pits and invigorating crunch of berry seeds are surpassed in efficacy by a saliva-liberating streak of salinity allied to alkalinity and stoniness, as well as a lentil sprout-like burst of nutty and positively vegetal flavor, all of which combine for a finish of dazzling interactive complexity and exhilarating energy that compels you to take the next sip."
