"Dagueneau's approach is to produce wines that bring out the natural minerality of the soil and have balance, harmony and longevity. The relative sweetness of each vintage is secondary to the balance of acidity, texture and richness of fruit and the wines will never be chaptalised. The 2010 Jurancon Jardin De Babylone is a deep yellow-gold in color with fruity aromas of apricot, peach, citrus and tropical fruit with honeyed overtones. The palate is intense yet balanced between deep toffee and dried fruit and beautiful soft acidity."

"A very harmonious wine with remarkable aromatic strength that is long on the palate. The grape varieties complement each other perfectly and the result is surprisingly fresh. It is a lively wine, with an expressive nose and complex mouth."

2009 Domaine Didier Dagueneau Les Jardins de Babylone Jurancon

"Deep in color, intense ripe and exotic fruit with a complex spiciness. Impressive indeed, ripe, rounded notes of pineapple, star anise, mirabelle, guava and acacia honey with a gentle creaminess. Seductive and juicy on the finish. 100% Petit Manseng, 10.5% alcohol and approximately 125g/l residual sugar."

2009 Guigal Ermitage Ex Voto Blanc

"A barrel sample of the 2009 Hermitage Ex-Voto Blanc is sensational. Notes of powdered rock, anise, intense honeyed citrus, tropical fruit and quince along with lively acids and massive concentration suggest this 2009 will be a long distance runner and confirms the greatness of this vintage. Fat and unctuous, it should be approachable young, but last for 2+ decades." 94-98 pts, reviewed by Robert Parker.
