"As usual, from southwest-facing Grenache vineyards and aged in used barriques, the Coume del Mas 2010 Banyuls Galateo - tasted from tank - is distinctively buttery in texture as well as flatteringly glycerin-rich. Black raspberry confiture laced with vanilla and caramel picks up a mouthwatering and extremely welcome streak of salinity, which along with hints of berry skin and bitter dark chocolate make for a highly-stimulating, not to mention long, finish."

2009 Chateau Sigalas Rabaud Sauternes
"The Sigalas-Rabaud has a well defined nose: grapefruit, nectarine, honey and lime, much more primal than some of the other 2009s. The palate is very well balanced with excellent acidity: apricot, honeysuckle, a touch of orange zest and then vibrant white peach bursting across the finish with lime flower and lemongrass on the aftertaste. Wonderful persistency, power and freshness. Without question: the 2009 is the best Sigalas-Rabaud that I have tasted and this nectar comes highly recommended."

2007 Chateau Rieussec Sauternes
"This has a very primal nose. ...the oak exposed at the moment although there is obviously a great deal of fruit concentration underneath. The palate is well balanced, a little oaky on the entry, dried honey, lemon curd, apricot and orange peel towards the linear finish. Tightly coiled Sauternes, quite modern in style, this should develop over 8-10 years in the bottle before really opening up and one hopes, evolve a little more "personality"."
