"A ripe, cool and restrained nose of red and blue pinot fruit that is liberally laced with violet and wet stone nuances leads to textured and solidly well-concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess good punch and a touch of minerality on the persistent finish. There is fine precision as well as a refreshing element of firm but ripe acidity that adds focus without being aggressive."

2010 Louis Jadot Vosne Romanee Les Beaux Monts

"The 2010 Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts covers every corner of the palate with layers of expressive dark fruit, flowers, spices and licorice. It boasts gorgeous mid-palate pliancy and richness in a soft, seductive style that is highly appealing. This is remarkably seamless and integrated for such a young wine in this vintage."

2010 Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot

"Medium red. Tight but pure nose offers redcurrant, red cherry, minerals, flowers, licorice and menthol, plus a high note of orange zest. On the palate, terrific inner-mouth energy gives sharp definition to the intense flavors of red berries, spices and menthol. Finishes with serious, firm tannins and an impression of weightlessness. For a taut wine that's built for a graceful evolution in bottle, this is remarkably pliant today." -Stephen Tanzer

2012 Bernard Dugat Py Gevrey Chambertin Coeur de Roy

"The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur de Roy comes from Bernard Dugat’s vines planted in 1910, raised in 60% new oak with 70% whole cluster fruit. It has a rather strict, taciturn bouquet at the moment, but the mineralite is tangible underneath and will flourish with bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity and abundant pure dark cherry and blueberry notes, segueing into a tense, wonderfully poised finish. This is very fine."

"Dugat-Py's 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Cœur du Roy emerges from parcels ranging from 50-103 years of age. Dark cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and black olive are rich and explosive on the palate, The 2012 is endowed with stunning purity and depth. This is another huge Burgundy that is going to require at least a few years in bottle."
