Type: Red Wine
Country: Spain
Region: Priorat

"The 2010 has a very ripe, glossy bouquet with macerated dark cherries, soy and violets. The palate is full-bodied with succulent tannins married with good acidity, and pure dark fruits laced with balsamic, orange rind and a touch of rosemary, with fine delineation on the sensual finish."

2012 Celler Cal Pla Mas d'en Compte Black Slate

"From one of Priorat’s coolest micro-climates, this 2012 Black Slate is composed of 60% old vine Grenache (60+ years) and 40% old Carignan (80 years), and aged 12 months in concrete tanks, old wood foudres, and two-year-old barrels. It reveals lots of licorice, crushed wet rock, sweet blueberry and black raspberry fruit characteristics along with a full-bodied, moderately tannic mouthfeel. The tannins are sweet and well-integrated, and the wine is drinking beautifully already. For a relatively expensive Spanish appellation, this is an outright steal!" - Robert Parker, Jr.

2011 Clos Erasmus Laurel

"Dark cherry color with violet reflections. High robe, bright with abundant tears on the glass. Intense, expressive and concentrated aromas, round and enjoyable. Black fruit prevails and then gives way to floral notes, spices, toasted notes (which after a while become more roasted) and deep mineral nuances. Bulky and powerful attack. A fleshy red wine, with abundant fruity aromas, very tasty, with an unctuous palate. Excellent acidity and ripe tannins. Long, balanced and very persistent finish."
