Size: 750ml
Type: White Wine

Country: France
Region: Burgundy, Chablis

"Rather shut down on the nose, hinting at orange peel, nutmeg and minerals. Denser and more savory than the "regular" Clos, but at the same time silkier (the vines here are older). A stronger oak element contributes to the impression of breadth and dryness. More bracing on the long finish than the thick palate suggests, with a piquant note of pineapple. I'd give this very rich and saline wine a few years to absorb some of its oak." Reviewed by Stephen Tanzer.

2012 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Champs Royaux

"Bottled three weeks before I tasted it in late June, Fevre's 2012 Chablis Champs Royaux offers a juicy amalgam of honeydew and lime on a glossy palate, leading to a relatively simple but refreshing, invigorating and persistent finish."

2011 William Fevre Chablis Bougros

"This also displays an abundance of classic Chablis character with iodine, tidal pool and ripe green fruit aromas that precede dense, muscular and overtly powerful flavors that culminate in a saline-infused and impressively persistent finish where a touch of wood surfaces. As Bougros typically is, this is a big wine with almost painful intensity. While this slightly smoky effort isn't particularly refined, it is certainly dramatic and imposing."

2011 William Fevre Chablis Le Clos

"Fevre’s 2011 Chablis Les Clos is seriously intense. The Clos is another wine that saturates the palate with endless layers of aromas and flavors in a style that is all about persistence and length. The 2011 will require time, perhaps quite a bit of it, but it is striking for its purity and delineation. This is a very strong showing from Fevre and winemaker Didier Seguir."
