"Sports a good coating of roasted apple wood to go with the core of juicy plum and steeped black currant fruit. Lively anise and clove notes stud the finish, with the toast hanging on. A touch amped up, but will certainly have some fans."

2010 Chateau de Chambrun Lalande de Pomerol
-Wine Spectator, 89 to 92 pts.
"Chateau Chambrun is emerging as a worthy competitor to what is generally considered to be the finest wine of the appellation, La Fleur de Bouard. Cropped at 21 hectoliters per hectare, and made from a final blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc, the 2010 is a real blockbuster. Its dense purple color is followed by a big, sweet nose of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries and cassis. Aromatic, rich, unctuously textured and thick, it achieved 14.5% natural alcohol and should drink nicely for 7-8 years." -Robert Parker
