"Light, with friendly cassis and cherry fruit kissed with a hint of toasty vanilla. The finish is soft and rounded."
-Wine Spectator, 88 to 91 pts.

"This American-owned estate has been on a qualitative roll for over a decade and the 2010 should rival their 2005 and 2009 as one of the finest wines La Vieille Cure has made. The dense plum/ruby/purple-tinged 2010 exhibits beautiful notes of kirsch liqueur, black currants, licorice and forest floor. Lovely texture and purity, medium to full body and superb fruit intensity result in a gorgeous wine that will be accessible early, but capable of lasting 10-15 years." -Robert Parker

2005 Chateau Les Roches de Ferrand Fronsac

"This wine is rich and medium-bodied and can well accompany meats, poultry, cheeses and other savory dishes. A deep black "toasty" fruit bouquet is followed by full, round fruit on the palate, supported by the structure imparted by both ripe fruit and oak barrel tannins, with a smooth finish leaving you wanting for nothing. Last, but not least, the wine is an excellent value."

2009 Chateau Moulin Pey Labrie Canon de Fronsac

"This is a big, serious, back-strapping wine meant for long-term aging. In fact, I wouldn-t touch it for another 4-5 years. It is clearly the most masculine, concentrated and structured wine of the Canon-Fronsac area. A lot of Merlot is in the wine, but Cabernet Franc and possibly a little Cabernet Sauvignon are also included. This inky purple wine displays notes of Asian plum sauce, creme de cassis and blackberry liqueur as well as a hint of lead pencil shavings. Big, full-bodied, and seriously endowed, this massive Canon-Fronsac needs time to calm down. However, everything is present - acidity, tannin, extract and substantial richness. This is an impressive wine as well as a sleeper of the vintage."-Robert Parker

2003 Chateau Haut Bergey Pessac Leognan

"Dullish dark red. Coffee and mocha aromas. Moderately dense and chewy on the palate, with flavors of blackcurrant, mocha, chocolate, coffee and herbs. Seems a bit fuller in the middle than it was last year prior to the bottling. A low-acid wine with substantial tannins. Drink it over the next few years before it dries out." -Stephen Tanzer
