Size: 750ml
Type: Red Wine
Varietal: Red Bordeaux Blend
Country: France
Region: Bordeaux, Pomerol

"Another powerful, big, large-scaled effort, the 2008 exhibits an inky/purple color as well as sweet creme de cassis, blackberry, plum, Asian spice, licorice and incense notes. Layered and full-bodied with stunning purity and a 40+ second finish, this beauty needs 3-5 years of bottle age and should keep for 25-30 years." Reviewed by Robert Parker.

2005 Chateau Clinet

"Exhibits subtle, complex aromas of black olive, mushroom and crushed berry. Full-bodied, with a velvety tannin structure and a decadent, ripe fruit aftertaste. Slightly earthy, but with loads of delicious fruit."

2011 Vieux Chateau Certan Pomerol (Futures)

"This has a dark ganache and loamy profile that belies the vintage's lighter, fresher profile, and the wine cuts a broad swath but stays well-defined, with dense tobacco and fig on the finish. An impressive effort and an early challenger for one of the wines of the vintage. Tasted non-blind."
-Wine Spectator, 93 to 96 pts.

"Made in a big, bold style with 13.6% natural alcohol, it reveals a stunning perfume of graphite, mulberries, black currants, kirsch, licorice and forest floor. This full-bodied, dense Pomerol transcends the overall vintage character. Thienpont compared the style of the 2011 with their 2000, but with more density to its core because of the extremely low yields. Only 60% of the crop made it into this cuvee. It will need 5-8 years of cellaring, and should still be intact and drinking beautifully at age 30."-Robert Parker

2006 Chateau La Violette Pomerol

"This is a terrific La Violette, with a gorgeously floral, black raspberry, and black currant nose, a dark plum/purple color, and a full-bodied mouthfeel, but with an ethereal lightness and sweet noble tannins. The textured, layered mouthfeel is impressive, the purity impeccable, and the finish very, very long." Reviewed by Robert Parker.
