"It offers an alluring perfume of pain grille, crushed stone, violets, cinnamon, black cherry, and blueberry. A feminine, elegant style of Priorat, it has layers of succulent, spicy fruit, silky tannin, and exceptional length."

2011 Clos Erasmus Laurel

"Dark cherry color with violet reflections. High robe, bright with abundant tears on the glass. Intense, expressive and concentrated aromas, round and enjoyable. Black fruit prevails and then gives way to floral notes, spices, toasted notes (which after a while become more roasted) and deep mineral nuances. Bulky and powerful attack. A fleshy red wine, with abundant fruity aromas, very tasty, with an unctuous palate. Excellent acidity and ripe tannins. Long, balanced and very persistent finish."

2009 Marco Abella Clos Abella

"Full-bodied and rich on the palate, this red delivers a mouthful of currant, blackberry, toast, orange peel and loamy flavors. The muscular tannins clamp down on the finish. A bit rustic, but powerful."

2011 Clos Mogador

"The 2011 Clos Mogador feels ripe, serious and young. Rene Barbier likes to pick ripe grapes but without any raisins making it into the vats. The wine is a blend of the different grapes in his Clos Mogador vineyard (it’s just one of a handful of wines officially awarded the single-vineyard label by the Catalan wine institutions): Garnacha, Carinena, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. But the wine speaks more of the place than the grapes, with notes of slate, thyme, rosemary, sage, lavender, black cherries and a supple palate, full-bodied, with pungent flavors, round, velvety tannins and a long aftertaste. This is a superb effort for such a warm vintage, the warmest and driest in Priorat since 2003, and great value for the quality. 30,000 bottles are produced of this prodigious, powerful but balanced Priorat."
