"Black cherry and blueberry on the nose along with hints of vanilla and leather give way to a full, rich wine with ripe concentrated red and black berry fruit interwoven with sweet spice. The finish offers ripe silky tannins."

2012 Graffigna Centenario Elevation Red Blend

"Sharp notes of ink and leather dominate the nose but turn brighter in the mouth, with bitter chocolate and soft plum. Bonarda’s sweetness balances the acrid flavor of tannat, and the remaining grapes balance out those two more rustic varieties. The finish is surprisingly smooth, and not too bitter."

2011 La Puerta Alta Malbec Bonarda

"The 2011 La Puerta Alta Malbec Bonarda has a well-defined bouquet with briary blackberry fruit and dark chocolate: all well-defined and with good lift. The palate is medium-bodied with mulberry and mocha on the entry. The tannins are a little dusty, and the finish is a little brusque, nonetheless, there is good substance here, and it is furnished with an attractive spicy note on the aftertaste."

More than a hint of sweetness. For this blend/style this is much too sweet. For a lot of folks sweet and fruit forward can be similar. Not here - this stuff is sweet. If you want to go to a family holiday dinner where they drink Concord wine or Jam Jar red, take this. They will end up saying, "I usually don't like Shiraz or Malbec, but this is good."
