"Good ruby-red. Aromas of black cherry, minerals and licorice, plus a hint of bitter chocolate. Juicy, dense and tightly wound, with surprising acidity for a wine from this grand cru. Lovely savory vinosity to the black fruit and licorice flavors. Finishes with excellent rising length." -Stephen Tanzer

2010 Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot

"Medium red. Tight but pure nose offers redcurrant, red cherry, minerals, flowers, licorice and menthol, plus a high note of orange zest. On the palate, terrific inner-mouth energy gives sharp definition to the intense flavors of red berries, spices and menthol. Finishes with serious, firm tannins and an impression of weightlessness. For a taut wine that's built for a graceful evolution in bottle, this is remarkably pliant today." -Stephen Tanzer

2012 Bernard Dugat Py Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes

"The appellation is the largest by far in the Cote d'Or. With a total of 1,354 acres in the Cote d'Or, Geverey Chambertin accounts for two thirds. All Gevrey, regardless of status, should be substantial wine, dark in hue and infused with a strong, assertive fruit. Wine for laying down, but can be appreciated when young after carafing for several hours before serving."

2012 Bernard Dugat Py Gevrey Chambertin Coeur de Roy

"The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur de Roy comes from Bernard Dugat’s vines planted in 1910, raised in 60% new oak with 70% whole cluster fruit. It has a rather strict, taciturn bouquet at the moment, but the mineralite is tangible underneath and will flourish with bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity and abundant pure dark cherry and blueberry notes, segueing into a tense, wonderfully poised finish. This is very fine."

"Dugat-Py's 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Cœur du Roy emerges from parcels ranging from 50-103 years of age. Dark cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and black olive are rich and explosive on the palate, The 2012 is endowed with stunning purity and depth. This is another huge Burgundy that is going to require at least a few years in bottle."
