"Shows beautiful aromas of crushed berries and currant, with hints of mineral. Full-bodied, with lovely currant, licorice and mint. Long and caressing. Very refined and balanced. Another winner from Pontet-Canet."

2006 Chateau d'Armailhac Pauillac

"This impressive Pauillac is performing even better from bottle than it did from barrel. Made by the staff at Mouton Rothschild, it is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by a bouquet of grilled meats, subtle herbs, coffee, black currants, and a hint of camphor. The sweetness of the tannins, full-bodied mouthfeel, and stunning length, all in gorgeous symmetry, suggest this is one of the finest d’Armailhacs yet made."

2006 Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste

"Grand-Puy-Lacoste has produced another classic wine with the creme de cassis fruit that I often find in both Mouton Rothschild and Pontet-Canet, yet both of those vineyards are closer to the Gironde River. This wine has a pure personality, with the aforementioned classic creme de cassis notes, medium to full body, beautiful density, purity, texture, and length. If anything, this recalls a hypothetical blend of their brilliant 1995 and 1996. Tannins are elevated, so patience will be required." Reviewed by Robert Parker.

2013 Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild Pauillac (Futures)

"Barrel Sample. An unusually high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in this second wine of Mouton Rothschild offers black currant fruits over the layers of oak and coffee flavors. The juicy, fresh character of this wine persists all the way to the finish."

Reviewed by: Roger Voss, The Wine Enthusiast - 90 to 92pts

"The Le Petit Mouton has a huge majority of Cabernet Sauvignon at 93% - the highest percentage ever. The nose is quite floral and Margaux-like in style, simple but perfumed. The palate is crisp and structured on the entry with plenty of graphite-infused black fruit originating from the Cabernet, with a touch of dried blood towards the finish. This is a knockout wine from Philippe Dhalluin - real character and panache here."
