"This wine has closed down since I saw it prior to bottling. A blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon from one of the great estates in Pessac-Leognan, the wine has notes of white currants, melon, and flint/crushed rock with a delicate hit of orange and lemon zest. Give it another 4-5 years of cellaring and drink it over the following three decades."-Robert Parker

Medium to full-bodied and silky with good underlying acidity, it is a juicy, savory, quintessentially elegant wine that will benefit from several years of cellaring and last for 15+ years." "The 2006 Haut-Brion performed even better from bottle than it did from barrel. Sixty-four percent of the production went into this wine, and while it displays the vintage’s powerful tannins and structure, it possesses superb concentration, and the minerality/scorched earth notes of a great Haut-Brion. Medium to full-bodied, with perhaps not quite the fleshiness of the 2005 or 2000, it is built more along the lines of the 1998 and 1996. It is a brilliant effort displaying sensational purity, texture, and length that should be exceptionally long-lived."-Robert Parker

Once past the exquisite perfume, the wine reveals full body, extraordinary concentration, plenty of chocolate, smoke, cassis, and blackberry flavors, and that unmistakable volcanic ash-like earthiness that comes from this appellation.
