"Expressive aromas of dark fruits, coffee and chocolate. Sweet, very ripe and pliant, with enticing inner-mouth aromatic character. Finishes with ripe tannins and lingering sweetness. This will make a good restaurant wine but should also last well. This was my favorite of the Jadot village wines, although the Nuits-Saint-Georges should turn out well, especially if Lardiere declassifies some premier cru juice into it, as he expects to do."-Stephen Tanzer.

"Plum jam and spice flavors mark this red, whose texture is open and backed by a layer of tannins at the end. Just a bit hollow in the middle."

"Rich and juicy, with black cherry and plum flavors allied to dense, well-integrated tannins. Tobacco and spice accents grace the finish."

"Captivating nose combines red raspberry, minerals, crushed stone, coffee and cocoa powder. Juicy and slightly high-toned on the palate; bit lean for this cuvee Fruitier than the Beaux Monts but the tannins seem tougher today. But finishes with sneaky length. "Mute nose hints at cherry, mint and fresh herbs. Then silky and soft on the palate, with lovely inner-mouth perfume to the cherry, earth and saline flavors. A bigger wine than the nose suggests but not at all heavy. Finishes silky and long, with rather suave tannins. A very good showing."

"The 2005 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Lavieres smells of sandalwood, cocoa powder, and lightly-cooked black cherry. Strikingly creamy, polished and plush on the palate, with vividly concentrated cherry fruit and meat juices, it finishes sweet and rich but with strong underlying tannins and stony, alkaline mineral notes."

"Good dark red. Reserved but complex nose offers black raspberry, smoked meat, spicecake and minerals. Dense, serious and youthfully closed, with flavors of small wild berries and spices. Finishes with somewhat tougher tannins than the Morey premier crus and thus a bit more rustic today." Reviewed by Stephen Tanzer.
