"The 2012 Tinto Crasto is a blend of 35% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz, 25% Touriga Franca and 10% Tinta Barroca, all tank-aged, except for 5% matured in French oak. It comes in at 14% alcohol. This takes some concepts from Crasto’s Flor, the entry-level, fruitier wine also reviewed this issue, and adds a layer of seriousness. Here, the fruit is fresh, but not really sweet. It’s still young and exuberant, with better if still modest concentration, but the balance is superior, too. It’s not just a summer red, although it will function well in that regard. There is structure as well, relatively speaking."
