"The bouquet features charred paper smells of toasted walnuts, roasted chestnuts, paraffin, cardboard, parchment, dry grain and herbs. Entry is grainy sweet and moderately oily; the midpalate stage is loaded with grainy breakfast cereal flavors and, at times, even comes off like oatmeal. Ends well on an oily, satiny note." 85-89 pts.

Just got back in to sipping in the recent year and a half, of course you start with the one. What a beautiful place to restart. Was a bourbon man but am much more satisfied with the Irish family of whiskeys. Not to say I won't slip in a taste of the old habit once in a while. I found his to come at you from the start. Oak flavor caught me the most to start. What a wonderful warming. A very good finish the reminds you it was there. Holds well over rocks.
