"Opening aromas are of sea breeze, cigar smoke, oak and malted barley; air contact releases light caramel, fudge, cocoa bean, burnt candle wick and heather. Entry is the most complex of any whisky; midpalate soars on oak, spirit and grain tastes. The greatest distilled spirit of this generation. Buy whatever you can find." Best Buy.

Nose: Stunning honey, clover, oak wood, toffee, leather, rice pudding with nutmeg, candle wax, light smokey peat, and vanilla nougat. Palate: Honey, almond, cranberry, citrus, peat smoke, dark roast coffee, vanilla, and oak wood. Finish: Medium-length, smoky, with some leather, spiced vanilla pipe tobacco, oak wood, and lingering peat. Comments: This is superb. When something this special comes along, don’t miss the opportunity!

Astounding

This is peated Scotch executed to near perfection. On the palate it is sweet and accessible, almost creme brulee and light spices, and then all of the sudden the peat fire rush races across your palate. Amazing with a long aftertaste of dessert fire! I have not come across anything else quite like this. Have fun, worth the price of admission.

Nose: malt, oak, smoke, sherry, caramel, and cinnamon. My. Goodness. Taste: smooth, heavy, almost chewable! Rich sweet malt, cream, bitter almonds, mocha, toffee, and a clay-like earthiness. Finish: smoke, sherry, and grass. A phenomenal flavor profile. Mouthfeel, it's smooth but not strong. When it's all said and done, one of the best single malts I've tried.
