Speyburn 10 Year Speyside Malt

"Deep golden amber color. Honeyed nuts, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and peat aromas are intriguing. A supple entry leads to a dry-yet-fruity medium-full body exotic dried fruit, melted chocolate, caramel, candied ginger, and pink peppercorns. Finishes with a spicy sweet fade with roasted grain and wet slate accents. A gutsy and peppery single malt to experiment with in cocktails."

Glenlivet 12 Year Old

"Off-dry malted barley and light toffee smells greet the olfactory sense along with flowery fragrances of heather, rose petal and pine. Entry features sweet grain and candied apricot tastes; the midpalate is mellow, malty, fruity (white raisins, apricots) and sophisticated. Ends on a buttery note. Remains the Speyside benchmark." 90-95 pts.

A good scotch at an affordable price. Has a very sweet aroma, almost like honey and goes down smooth, something for those who like blended scotch but want to take a step towards single malt. Very enjoyable to sip on and makes a very good rob roy as well.

- Color: light beer - Nose: light malt, honey, fresh fruit, mildly floral - Taste: pears and crisp lightly tart apples, malted oats, and small hints of lemon/lime zest. - Finish: decent a standard that shouldn't be ignored or passed. it's a fine whisky. crisp and refreshingly sweet, simple malt. good quality for a typical beginners Scotch. I prefer it over Glenlivet personally. the 15 Solera and 18 are also darn good for an affordable price. cheers. 81/100
