Cask No. 182/2007. Distilled 4/7/07. Bottled 26/8/10.61.1%abv. For its age, this young Islay tastes more complex than you would think. Plenty of smoke up front, but not overpowering. Hints of toffee and vanilla mingle with the smoke and brine to give a well rounded experience.

Distilled on 12/11/1997, and bottled on 7/5/2011. Matured in a Hogshead. Cask #5588. 53.9%abv.

Interesting, graceful and complex. Vanilla on the nose, then nutty notes, pear, quince, other orchard fruits, light nutmeg and cinnamon. This Imperial is more about focus and intricacy than heft. Geeky note: after tasting the independent Signatory bottling next to Imperial's original distiller samples, we chose the Signatory.

Creamy, with a defined ashy influence, more fruity and well balanced. A touch of cracked black pepper lingers. Distilled 2/12/2004 Cask number 306445 60.3%abv

"Our Gusano Reposado is the epitome of smooooooth (emphasis on the "ooooo"). Aged up to 6 months in oak barrels, our 100% Espadin mezcal is exposed to the wooden notes of the barrels but more importantly to the age-­-old proven benefits of our handpicked, non-­-commercial grade worms, which act as an organic filter smoothing out the rough edges of the high alcohol content and also as an enhancer to the overall flavor with its salty, smoky earth tones."

Distilled on 1/30/1995, and bottled 7/5/2011. Matured in a Hogshead. Cask #649. 54.6%abv. Sweet but restrained on the nose, with baking spice. Young, light on the palate and slightly creamy. Cinnamon applesauce with lots of caramel and oak, especially toward the finish. Another plus: this will be affordable at cask strength.
