Binny's is teaming up with American Wine School to offer you the same intensive wine education that the pros take. WSET - that's the Wine & Spirits Education Trust – has been around for 45 years. The organization was created to educate wine and spirits professionals and enthusiasts all over the world.
As a WSET Approved Program Provider of 12 years, American Wine School offers this internationally recognized program of study across seven states, including Illinois. We are excited to host a series of American Wine School WSET classes at our Lincoln Park & Naperville stores.
This multiple class, academic course is designed to train professional wine staff, so if you're interested in breaking into the industry, or serious about gaining a deeper understanding of wine, this is the class for you.

This entry level course provides basic information on basic grape varieties, introduction to wine tasting, food and wine pairing as well as basic service knowledge. Perfect for people new to the world of wine, this course results in a WSET Level 1 certificate and is a great starting point for most novice consumers. No experience required.

This course is recommended for those who have earned the Intermediate Certificate, or have a good foundation of wine knowledge. In depth lectures and discussions covering wines and spirits of the world are designed to give a thorough understanding of the principal wines and spirits of the world and their commercial importance. Successful candidates receive the Level 3 Certificate of the WSET.

From labeling laws to climate, soil and grape varieties, the WSET® Level 2 Certificate is designed to broaden your product knowledge. Crafted with the professional in mind, it’s also perfect for non-professional wine enthusiasts who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge while obtaining a The WSET® Certificate. Taking the WSET® Level 1 is not a requirement for this course.
