A bunch of new goodies have shown up in the past couple weeks here at Binny's. This just tells me Spring is coming!
A customer favorite has returned. The 2006 Bearboat Pinot Noir is back and is priced well, $15.99. It's a great value and tough to beat under $20.
One of my favorite Napa producers, Etude has released their 2007 Pinot Noir. 2007 for California Pinot Noir was a great growing year. This Carneros Pinot Noir runs $36.99.
We just received Loring Wine Company's 2008 Pinot Noirs. These received really good scores from Wine Spectator and range in price between $30 and $40.
I'll get to taste this very soon, but the 2007 Shafer Merlot has arrived. It runs $44.99. This goes for most of Shafer's lineup, it won't be here for long. I'll blog about it very soon.
A small Napa producer called Titus has hit some of our shelves. They only produce around 6,000 cases per year. The Cabernet, Petit Sirah and Sauvignon Blanc are available, but quantities are limited.
The second label of Darioush, Caravan was a huge hit for our “Weekend at Binny's” Cabernet tasting. It was full bodied, smooth and oaky. It runs $29.99.
For a great value, the 2007 Steltzner Claret is a great Cabernet based blend from Napa. It is very much like a red Bordeaux. It's Earthy, well structured and would be a great match with medium rare red meat. This goes for $15.99.
Another well priced red blend is the 2006 St. Francis Sonoma Red. It runs $7.99 and is a blend of Cab, Merlot, Zinfandel and Syrah. It is one of the better reds I've had under $10.
What are some new favorites of yours?
