Another 2014 Binny’s Homebrew Contest has come to an end. We’re blown away with the incredible homebrew talent and beers that we had the chance to judge this year. We expanded the contest to four locations with a total of 200 entries. The first five to place at each location went on to the final judging at Binny’s in Lincoln Park. Congratulations to Sean for winning two tickets to the Great American Beer Festival and to all of the homebrewers who placed or took the time to handcraft and homebrew their entries for the 7th Annual Binny’s Homebrew Contest sponsored by Samuel Adams.

Another successful Homebrew Contest has come to an end and we couldn’t be more impressed with all of the entries this year! Thank you to everyone who took the time to handcraft and homebrew their entries for the 6th Annual Binny’s Homebrew Contest sponsored by Samuel Adams.
This year, we saw a variety of entries from IIPA’s to stouts to saisons. We even had a Danish Pilsner entry! We’d also like to mention that we will be changing the Homebrew Contest next year to accommodate more entries. More details to come.
The top ten Homebrew Contest entries:
First Place: Tim Beale of Lagrange will be enjoying a trip to the Great American Beer Festival in Colorado in October thanks to his saison! The judges described this beer to be impeccably and stylistically near perfect to the type of saison he was going for. Congratulations, Tim!
It took just 19 minutes to fill the allotment of entries for the 6th Annual Binny’s Homebrew Contest. Excited and sleepy homebrewers lined up at the door this morning before the store opened. Rumor has it that the first guy in line got there at 5:30. We can’t confirm that. We weren’t there.
Anyway, good luck to everybody who made it, cheers to our judges, and we’ll see you all on Saturday afternoon to announce the winners!
edit: *** AFTER 19 MINUTES, ALL OUR ENTRIES ARE FULL ***
