Pisco Sour Tasting & Recipe


We’re excited to host Peruvian producer and owner of Macchu Pisco and La Diabalada Pisco, Melanie deTrindade-Asher. Melanie is bringing a little bit of Peru to the South Loop Binny’s as she personally blends her very own signature pisco sours and signs bottles.

What’s a pisco sour? Only the classic Peruvian cocktail that matches the bright freshness of pisco with the zippy citrus of lime juice (or sometimes lemons). Here’s a recipe adapted from Melanie’s own


Rocks GlassPisco Sour – Serves Four


3 cups pisco
1 cup freshly squeezed key lime juice
1 cup simple syrup
1 egg white
1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters


Blend pisco, lime juice, simple syrup and egg white. Pour drinks, serve with a dash of bitters on top.


More about Melanie deTrindade-Asher: She thought up her business as a childhood dream of bringing pisco to the world stage. After finishing at Harvard Business School in 2003, she decided to put her dreams into action and started her own company, Macchu Pisco, a family business run by Melanie, her sister and her mom.
